Philmont has an extensive Ladies Bridge Program that offers numerous activities throughout the year. September starts the season off with a series of bridge lessons that continue until the end of March. These lessons are geared to players of all levels and are available to any member who wants to improve her bridge skills. Interested in duplicate bridge or team competition? Philmont offers both. Duplicate games are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. In a friendly atmosphere you can socialize and improve your bridge game. These games are sanctioned and award master points to the winners. Team competition is a big part of our program. We have six teams that compete in two local Bridge Leagues. Matches start in September and finish the end of March. One Sunday a month we have Dinner and Social Bridge for couples. Come with a partner to enjoy dinner followed by a duplicate game. Master points are awarded to the winners. In the summer,we have our Ladies Member Guest and our 'Special' Luncheon (the mini-Member Guest). Bring a guest to both and enjoy a day of fun with a wonderful luncheon and duplicate bridge in the afternoon. Prizes and master points are awarded to the winners. If you don't play duplicate bridge you can always find a social game available in the Ladies Card Room. Thursday and Saturday are very busy with women playing Social Bridge and Canasta. If card playing is your activity of choice, then Philmont is the place to be. It has something to interest you all season long. Men have constant card playing in the Men's grille on Thursday night and throughout the weekend. There is also a Men's bridge team that plays in the Suburban League and the Inter-Country Club League. |
